Plei's inception traces back to the early years of Sebastian Duque, our CEO, whose passion for soccer has been a defining element of his life. From a young age, soccer was more than a pastime for Sebastian; it was a profound part of his identity, whether he was playing, spectating, or engaging in the digital realm through FIFA.
After graduating from college, Sebastian returned to Miami and resumed playing soccer with his friends. He soon identified a common issue: while many people shared his enthusiasm for the game, organizing matches and finding fellow players was a complex task. Beyond the logistical hurdles, there was a notable lack of accessible platforms for people without existing teams or networks to connect and play.
Recognizing this gap, Sebastian conceived the idea of a centralized platform to facilitate soccer engagement, a hub where enthusiasts could effortlessly coordinate games based on their preferred schedules and locations. When he presented the concept to his brother Alejandro, it resonated deeply, and Alejandro decided to join forces with him.
